Eric Larrayadieu is a photographer with whom I made friends during his stay in Lille where he lived for several years professionally. He was interested in the posters and has himself suggested to use this photo from the hands of Gerard Garouste to work as a symbol of the artist who "puts his hands in it."
The artist shows the artist, which is never what we think he is but gives the desire to be. He shows his bright face, that he himself cannot see and which he leans clarity gestures, invisible to preparing the vision of the hands, motionless back which ensures the advance of the arm. It shows hands made to do, meditative, gathered, folded down the back. Hands smeared of the idle child? Mature hands, powerful, inspired, of man at work. What we are doing ourselves with our hands?
